OFD’s (On floor displays) are suitable for products with handles such as mops, brooms and snow scoops as well as smaller products such as dish brushes, hand brushes and other small products. These boxes are easy to ship and easy to merchandise in store as the boxes are already made up. OFD’s are ideal for promoting new products, seasonal products (ie snow scoops) and special promotions.
We have the ability to offer a wide variety of OFD’s, these are Full standard pallet boxes, Half Euro pallet boxes, Quarter Euro pallet boxes, Standard Quarter pallets, Shipper units, Stackable units and wooden stands.
A Counter Display Unit (CDU) is a retail display unit normally sited on a shop counter to encourage consumer impulse purchases or on a shelf to save space when displaying small items.
An Open Front CDU is mostly used on shelves so that products can easily be accessed by consumers. These types of unit are fabricated from printed corrugated board. Printed corrugated board is suited to short term promotional opportunities.
A Tray CDU can be used for impulse and shelf displays, the tray unit allows the product to stand up right in order to display the full product more clearly. This is an ideal solution to display products if it is not feasible to communicate all USP’s on packaging as consumers can then physically see all of the product.
These types of unit are fabricated from printed corrugated board. Printed corrugated board is suited to short term promotional CDU’s due to its relatively low cost and temporary nature.
A blister pack has many purposes including product security, protection, containing product elements or grouping products into sets. The plastic shell is vacuum-formed around a mould so it can contain the item snugly. This usually has a backing of paperboard or aluminium foil or plastic. A blister that folds onto itself is often called a clamshell.A blister pack allows the consumer to visually examine the product through the transparent plastic and the backing card or card insert can take any shape and size and can contain a hole or euro hole for merchandising purposes.
This form of packaging is the most expensive due to the mould of the plastic.
A box has many different forms, from a printed box to an acetate clear box with a printed insert. A box can take many shapes and sizes and offer different advantages for different products such as; protection, containing all product elements or grouping products into sets. Boxes often have lots of space for product information such as care instruction, warnings, features, benefits and other available products.
Some boxes can be expensive due to the material of the box, shape and sometimes size.
The most popular locations to utilise clip strips include; shelves, product placement areas (e.g. dish brushes hanging next to washing up liquid when normally they would be found in a separate aisle) and gondola ends. Clip strips are great for merchandising linked sales or impulse purchases as a certain number of smaller sized products can easily be transported to a variety of places within the store.
A hang tag is a different way to label and merchandise a product. The tag can offer space for a hole or Euro hole and product information, this combines both the merchandising and packaging solutions needed, all in one element. The tags can be printed in different sizes and shapes and on different card thicknesses (or even translucent plastic like those used in the HourGlass range) depending on needs and can be easily attached to products with different types of cotton, string or plastic fasteners. They can be also embossed or coated with a glossy finish for an extra touch of style. This way of packaging is kind to the environment due to less waste when in the hands of the consumer. Hanging tags keep the amount of packaging waste to a minimum.
Certain products will not offer space or the ability to use the hang the tag, which means it is limited to specific products.
A header card is mostly used with soft material products such as cloths etc; this provides a simple yet effective way to merchandise and display the product. Poly bagged or shrink wrapped products can also use a header card so that they are more versatile when merchandising. The header card can vary in shape and size thus offering varying amounts of space for product information.
Header cards can be expensive, however the shape and size is more advantageous with a unique look.
A label is a quick and easy way to package/brand a product. The label can be placed on a flat part of the product and hold basic information. There are different types of labels available, a peal and reveal label can offer more room for product information such as care instruction, warnings and other products available in the range. This is one of the most cost effective ways to package a Bentley product.
The size of the label is determined by the space available on the product. Some products will not offer space for a label, as the label needs to hold essential product information such as the barcode, product name and (if appropriate) contact details.
A printed bag protects the product from getting dirty and keeps it clean for the consumer. Printed bags are available in different sizes and they offer they can be used for an assortment of products. The artwork on the printed bag can be applied to single or multiple sides and can take any shape and size so long as it is contained on the bag.
This process can be expensive and is only really applied to products that need to be kept clean and/or contained, such as mop heads.
Swing tickets are a simple and easy way to get product information across, they also allow the consumer to see the product in full. The tags can be printed in different sizes and shapes and on different card thicknesses depending on requirements and can easily be attached to products with different types of cotton, string or plastic fasteners. They can be also embossed or coated with a glossy finish for an extra touch of style and to create a more luxurious/premium finish.
Swing tickets, however, only have a small amount of space so information has to be kept short. This type of packaging is more environmentally friendly than most, swing tickets are generally small therefore there is minimal waste.
A wrap can effectively display product in addition to getting the features and benefits across clearly. A wrap can also offer a merchandising solution by adding a hole or a euro hole. This form of packaging can group certain products together when offering them as a set, such as the ‘Brights by Bentley set above. The wrap can be printed in different sizes and shapes and on different card thicknesses; they can be also embossed or coated with a glossy finish for a touch of extra style.
A wrap uses a unique cutter guide which can make this form of packaging expensive.
